Friends, we need your help. Bobby’s BFF Corporal Chub is very sick and we don’t know what’s wrong.
Chub has been smitten with Bobby since the day they met, has cuddled and played with him, taught him how to cat, and even cleaned his grungy butthole when it was absolutely DIRE. He loves foster kittens but Bobby is his favorite baby of all time.
Corporal Chub has been a member of the Fishsticks family since he was fresh out of the oven, still slick from his ride down the water slide into the world. He was crawling over his mama and shoving other kittens off her nipples until he got his favorite one. I knew at that moment that he belonged to us.
Chub got very sick when he was a baby, developing FIP at a young age but recovering with treatment and coming to live with me. One of the ways we got him to eat was by syringe feeding him ham baby food. This is why we now say he is POWERED BY HAM.
Just after Christmas he got sick again and spent some time in the ER but improved after meds, a visit to his regular wizard doctor, and the liberal application of ham.
Now Chub is very sick again, even sicker than before, and we are running tests to determine whether it is a relapse of his FIP, histoplasmosis, lymphoma, or a secret fourth option. We’ve done a biopsy and started FIP treatment, but no matter what happens he’s going to need ongoing care. Please consider buying something from our ko-fi shop or donate whatever you can. If the unthinkable happens, after his final arrangements are made anything that remains will be donated to the FIP research project at UC Davis to help fund studies that develop medication to help save other cats.
